Issue #001
A brief introduction
The internet is a wondrous and scary place, but at Whiteboard we believe that it has enormous potential to be a tool for good, for connection, for understanding, for knowing and being known. We also think it's full of a lot of things that are just plain ole fun, and the links we choose to share each week are carefully curated to provide you with a careful dose of an Internet you maybe haven’t experienced yet, right in your inbox.
Each week, Open Tabs is a collection of the most interesting stories, news, and curiosities that came across our desk in the previous week. Every link is sustainably copied and pasted by hand, not by machines or algorithms, where it is then saved in our bookmarks, favorites, reading lists, or Slack reminders for days—or sometimes even weeks before finding it's way to you.
Our inaugural issue comes to you with a guide to the many lawsuits against P. Diddy (there are 32), an AI companion that wants to help you wander without your phone without getting lost, the story behind a brilliant campaign by the fine folks at charity:water, a beautifully designed and artfully written case study by Smith & Diction about branding an AI nutrition companion, and the delightfully bizarre website for Don't Hug Me I'm Scared a TV and Web series that you just have to experience to understand.
